As an executive coach, David specializes in helping people to thrive in complex, multicultural, geographically dispersed teams. He coaches leaders and their teams to improve their collaborative effectiveness.
His business background includes work in a variety of businesses and business areas, giving David an understanding of the business challenges his clients face. David calls his approach "human systems engineering," a combination of optimizing the underlying human system as well as focusing on the individual in order to effectively resolve business challenges.
Before starting his business, David was at Siemens AG where he was responsible for all training, coaching, consulting and conflict management related to intercultural communication issues on the Germany/USA interface. He has written several articles on how to recognize and work with cultural differences in business. At the European Southern Observatory he coached the executive team, reporting directly to the Director General. His work at Future Electronics GmbH managing and training sales employees honed his ability to coach for results. While a young executive at Citbank NA he developed his ability to drive corporate culture change.
He has coached a wide variety of business people from C-level to team leader, as well as selected, high-potential individual contributors. He has also coached scientists and health professionals. He has worked with coachees in many different countries around the world in both for-profit and notfor-profit organizations (banking and finance, engineering, manufacturing, information, professional services, non-governmental organizations, insurance).
David is an expert in coaching for organizational development, team effectiveness, change and transformation, cross-cultural management, innovation and transition coaching. David's experiences in business and coaching have shown him how coaching helps leaders to recognize and activate their potential. The ripple effect of these positive breakthroughs energizes both the coachee and the teams that they are responsible for.
